Tomorrow will prove whether hard work, honesty, and a will to do right by the people of Bedford can overcome the weight of the main political parties.

Yesterday evening was the Mayoral Question Time at Wootton Upper School. The event was organised by a number of sixth form students who attend the school, and I think I speak for everyone there when I say that the evening was a great success. The event was very well attended, with people there to see all 6 of the mayoral candidates respond to questions from the audience, and give their reasons for being the best choice for Mayor of Bedford. The BBC were also in attendance and will be airing both radio and television coverage from parts of the evening.

A huge thanks to the students for organising the event, and doing such a fantastic job.

A reminder to everyone that this evening, Monday 5th October, will be the election rally for Apu's mayoral campaign. Martin Bell is the guest speaker, and it should be a great evening. We will be focusing on the need for an independent mayor, and Apu's manifesto. The evening begins at 19:00, and will be held at the Howard Room, Corn Exchange, Beford (map). We look forward to seeing you all there.
